Super Carrier, today gives the media a preview of its
upcoming service offerings in 2001. These include PSINet
Mobile - MobileWEB, Virtual ISP and PSINet IntraNet.
Today's media briefing also effectively showcases PSINet's
full scale next-generation Internet solutions ranging
from network - infrastructure to managed services.
PSINet has engineered its network specifically for
Internet applications, resulting in an infrastructure
optimized network for Internet performance. PSINet provides
leased lines service from more than 900 points-of-presence
(POPs) throughout the world with 24X7 network monitoring
for optimal performance.

Preview of the new service offerings
In 2001, PSINet will formally launch the following three
managed services:
!P PSINet Mobile service - MobileWEB
PSINet will be the first ISP in Hong Kong to offer this
mobile solution - which enables corporate users to extend
their website services and information to mobile devices.
MobileWEB can dynamically fetch information from the
WWW and format it plus deliver the information to all
WAP enabled mobile phones.
The capability to automatically transform website information
on to mobile devices will eliminate the need to develop
and maintain two systems. In addition, MobileWEB can
support future mobile technologies such as GPRS, EDGE
and 3G and can read Asian and European languages.
!P Virtual ISP
This is a unique Internet access solution for businesses
that want to cross-sell bundled solutions and value-added
services, and wish to drive customers to their e-businesses.
Virtual ISP features nationwide dial-up Internet access,
authentication, dial-up software development and customization,
end-user billing and technical support, plus customer
service - all the above services will be privately labelled
under the customer's name.
Virtual ISP is a highly flexible and customizable services
which was developed to accommodate different businesses
who want to provide online services regardless of their
industries.
!P PSINet IntraNet
PSINet IntraNet solution links together the LANs of
different sites of one organisation to create a private
Internet-protocol (IP) network. The unique design of
PSINet IntraNet service can securely isolates internal
traffic from public Internet traffic and gives high-quality
access to the global Internet. IntraNet solution also
featured complete network management and monitoring,
Internet-access hardware, security consulting and implementation
all at a lower cost and less effort than traditional
wide-area networking services.
!P High Availability (HA) Solutions
PSINet High availability solutions launched in December
2000 are fully managed services designed to help corporation
maximise their Internet resources performance. There
are two main solutions;

content traffic management solution for networks with
multiple links.
!P HA Server Load Balancing, a highly reliable traffic
and content management solution for systems with multiple
servers.

The current solution suite from PSINet is primarily
divided into two major streams: 1) network and infrastructure,
2) managed services.
Network and Infrastructure
!P Dedicated Access, SmartFrame - offers superior connectivity
solutions providing full-time, high availability Internet
access service with maximum performance. SmartFrame
provides direct connections to PSINet Internet-optimised
backbone at access speeds of 64Kbps up to 45Mbps, thus

!P Broadband Internet Access - using the best of breed
technologies, PSINet will roll-out its Local Multi-point
Distribution Services (LMDS) to further enhance current

Internet access. This service will be launched in March
2001.

("HKII") Expo between 22-25 February 2001
