What is MPLS?
|
| |
|
MPLS stands for "Multi Protocol Label Switching". It
is a method of forwarding packets at a high rate of speed. It combines
the scalability of Layer 2 switching and intelligence of Layer 3
IP routing to form a network with high speed and performance. In
a MPLS network, incoming packets are assigned a "label"
by a "label edge router (LER)". Labeling is a simple indexing
mechanism that replaces traditional IP packet forwarding, which
is based on fast, simple ATM-like switching. At each hop in the
network, a router just examines the label to decide the next forwarding
hop for the packet. Packets are forwarded along a "label switch
path (LSP)" in order to eliminates resource intensive IP address
lookups that reduce overall packet throughput and limit scalability.

How can CPCNet guarantee the performance
of TrueCONNECT solution?
|
| |
|
QoS - Quality of Service. By implementing QoS technology, traffic
prioritization can be achieved. QoS can ensure mission-critical
and time-sensitive applications (e.g. Voice and video) running smoothly
on TrueCONNECT by allocating priority for transmission.
Strong CPCNet Backbone - CPCNet HK has 45Mbps direct links to
China which outperform other competitors in the market. This can
ensure customers of enough bandwidth for TrueCONNECT solution.
Fault tolerance - By deploying CPCNet TrueCONNECT solution,
data will not be dependent on single path for transmission among
sites and no single point-of-failure will occur.

How is the security
level of MPLS-based TrueCONNECT network sevices?
|
| |
|
MPLS technology combines the scalability of Layer 2 switching
and intelligence of Layer 3 IP routing to form a network with high
speed and performance. By referring to various white papers studying
the security of MPLS solution, it is proven that MPLS network, using
unique label to segregate customer traffic, has the same security
level of a comparable layer 2 based VPN solution such as ATM or
Frame-Relay using PVC or DLCI.
