CPCNet, a leading provider of MPLS VPN in Greater China and Asia Pacific, and Cybertrust, the global information security specialist, joined forces to offer an Integrated Suite of Information Security Services to companies operating in Greater China. Grouped under the name TrustCSI™, the new services are driven out of a world-class Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Hong Kong.
Growing companies need security
The TrustCSI™ concept was conceived in
2005, in response to the growing need for fully integrated
communications and security services. As a result of
rapid growth of China market, most enterprises operating
in China are facing security challenges - including
various cyber-attack, suffering from more viruses, worms,
denial-of-service attacks, and identity thefts than
their U.S. counterparts. In view of tremendous growth,
companies are often under-prepared and overstretched
when it came to protecting their IT assets. To address
this critical issue, CPCNet and Cybertrust join hand
to help enterprises with practical, fast and cost-effective
solutions to their IT security issues.
A partnership for the future
“When Cybertrust approached us for a partnership
to set up a SOC and deliver comprehensive information
security services in Greater China,” says CPCNet Chief
Executive Officer, Stephen Ho, “it was clear that they
understood the market and saw the opportunity. They
also had a vision for how both CPCNet and Cybertrust,
as market leaders, could offer world-class managed security
services to companies in Hong Kong and China.”
“We knew that leveraging Cybertrust's proven IT Security
implementation and operational skills, along with its
management and monitoring technology would give CPCNet
the ability to offer customers with the integrated services
they needed, and eventually to extend this out to other
services, like penetration testing, vulnerability assessments
and compliance.” says Mr Ho.
Trust works simply
The CPCNet's SOC was built on top of the company's
carrier-grade Network Operations Centre (NOC) and fully
leverages Cybertrust's global security expertise and
intelligence. On top of professional training, Cybertrust
is also working with CPCNet to craft the necessary security
policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest
standards of service delivery.
The collaboration results in CPCNet managing the SOC
and providing first-line TrustCSI™ customer support,
with Cybertrust providing back-end support. Like Cybertrust,
the TrustCSI™ services are vendor and technology
neutral, meaning they can be adapted to support any
type of IT infrastructure. “TrustCSI™ enables
companies to address the security challenges they face
in Greater China, where the current IT security levels
often most need to be improved,” says Mr Ho. “Through
a broad range of TrustCSI™ solutions flexible
enough to meet the varying needs of different types
of organizations, customers will benefit from 24x7 device
monitoring and threat tracking, security analysis, reporting
and compliance.”
Intelligence gathering
As part of the venture, CPCNet leverages Cybertrust's
world-renowned OnlineGuardian technology to improve
intelligence gathering on devices deployed in its customer's
information security networks. With this technology
and through the use of a Security Dashboard interface,
CPCNet can provide customers with a consistent and centralized
overview of their information security controls and
security status.
